What We Actually Check

Every service follows the same thorough checklist. Here's what's covered.

Visual inspectionWe check the boiler casing, pipework, flue and ventilation for damage, corrosion or anything that doesn't look right.

Flue gas analysisCombustion readings taken with a calibrated gas analyser. This tells us whether the boiler is burning gas safely and efficiently.

Gas pressure checksWe measure the gas inlet pressure and burner pressure and check they're within the manufacturer's tolerances.

Safety device testsWe test all the safety controls to make sure they'll actually shut the boiler down if something goes wrong.

Condensate and drainageThe condensate trap and drain get inspected. Blockages here are one of the most common reasons boilers pack up in winter.

System pressure checkWe check and top up the system pressure and inspect the expansion vessel where we can get to it.

Electrodes and ignitionThe ignition electrode and flame sensor are checked and cleaned if needed. These wear over time and cause ignition failures.

Written service recordYou get a full written service record on completion. This is what your manufacturer needs to see to keep your warranty valid.

How often should I get my boiler serviced?

Once a year. Every boiler manufacturer recommends it, and most require it as a condition of your warranty. It also picks up small issues before they become expensive breakdowns.

Will I lose my warranty if I miss a service?

Probably. Most manufacturers require proof of an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Miss one and your warranty could be void — meaning any repairs come out of your pocket.

How long does a boiler service take?

Between 30 and 45 minutes. It depends on the type and condition of the boiler. We don't rush it — every check on the list gets done properly.

Do you service all brands?

What happens if you find a fault?

We'll tell you what's wrong, give you a clear price for the fix, and let you decide. No pressure, no sales pitch. If it's dangerous, we're legally required to make it safe before we leave — we'll explain exactly what that means and why.

Yes. £69.99 for a standard boiler service. No call-out fee, no hidden extras. If we find a fault that needs a repair, that's a separate quote — you decide whether to go ahead.

Do I need to be home?

Someone over 18 needs to be in the property while we work. We'll give you a time slot so you're not hanging around all day waiting.
